2023 Tripe Iscariot Kroos Chenin Blanc

$42.00

Varieties: 100% Chenin Blanc

Region: Karridale, Margaret River

Tasting Notes

This is a classy, complex yet delicious Chenin Blanc. It has the tantalising and distinct lemon-ginger infusion flavour with the red apples, quince and an oyster shell brininess. The palate has texture, with the creamiest lees, yet everything reined in by pure, exhillarating acidity.

‘Oh how I’ve missed Kroos, as Remi Guise didn’t make a ‘21 and ’22 because the fruit wasn’t to his exacting standards. Well hello ’23 and welcome back. About Tripe Iscariot

Remi began his journey into wine in his country of birth, South Africa. Having grown up in the renowned winelands of the Cape Province, a four year degree in Viticulture and Oenology at the University of Stellenbosch armed him with the scientific arsenal to match an already obsessive and all-consuming interest in fine wine and how to make it. Having spent two years working in South Africa, Remi moved to Margaret River in 2007 and never looked back. For the last 17 years he has been making wines for some of the best and most progressive wineries and wine businesses in the region, and country.

tripe.Iscariot was born in 2013, initially out of restless passion and a desire to see more challenging wines made in, and become part of, Margaret River. Remi and his portfolio of wines have grown and matured into a selection of not only alternative varieties and styles, but of classic Margaret River varieties that are not only the culmination of a life spent drinking and exploring wine and flavour, but also a homage to the pioneer spirit of the region.
