‘‘A rose-blonde hue. Fragrant with raspberries and wild strawberries with a dusting of spice. The palate is lively and while a fine thread of acidity teases out the aforementioned fruit profile, it is savoury. Tangy, juicy, slightly creamy and deliciously dry.’’

About La Kooki

Eminently drinkable. Local at heart. Born out of opportunity. Full of personality. La Kooki was born in 2017. Founded on the pillars of opportunity, locality and personality. A parcel of amazing fruit from the Margaret River region landed in the laps of Mr and Mrs Kooki. This was the serendipitous beginning of their Kooki adventure; a dream they had for years, to create something together. With more than 50 years of wine industry experience between them, the duo share a bulging cavern of knowledge, expertise and experience. La Kooki is their space to bend rules, harness creativity, and express personality. Their deep roots and exceptional connections in the South West and Great Southern wine regions of Western Australia means they are at the top of many growers’ lists when it comes to selling off a couple of tonnes of fruit. Mr and Mrs Kooki find fruit of opportunity. Handling small batches the Kooki’s work closely with their growers, managing vines in many of the blocks they source fruit to get the best from them. Experimental, joyful and simplistic. The approach to winemaking is fuss-free, fear-free and exhilarating. Both technical experts at the craft, Mr and Mrs Kooki bend the rules of traditional winemaking when it comes to their label, and dare to be different in their approach to processing. The result? Eminently drinkable wines, that are a little bit Kooki.
